Going from a family of three to four has definitely been a transition, but not the type of transition that I expected. Everyone told me that one to two kids was going to be the biggest shock. I got so many people telling me that it was going to be so hard and the “oh you just wait. You have it easy now with one!” That one always irked me just a little bit, I’m not going to lie. Why do you feel like you need to trample on my dreams of a growing family? Yes, tell me truths…
One of my favorite new things that we’ve gotten for Hazel is our Trendy Cover from Trendy Treehouse. I was able to customize the fabrics from their big selection, and make it something that I love. Right now, I’m using it as a carseat cover and a nursing cover. These were some of my first few days home, so it was a no makeup kind of week, but my nursing game is definitely strong! I’m much more confident this time around, and I love this nursing cover. Its soft material, and it doesn’t make me hot…
Learning how your new baby sleeps (or doesn’t sleep) is one of the trickiest things for me. Hallen was just easy. She napped well and slept well at night since day one. Hazel is also a great sleeper at night, but getting her to sleep for naps is a lot more difficult. Day one of bringing her home from the hospital, we’ve used one swaddle and one swaddle only. It’s such a great one! The Love To Dream swaddle is seriously a life saver. We use it both for naps and night time. Hazel already understands that…
Nine days into this having-two-children-to-raise-now thing, and I feel like it’s going pretty well! I mean, I haven’t been alone with both of them for more than a couple hours, but all in all, I’m loving having two little girls to call ours. Yes, it’s exhausting. Yes, it takes a lot of prep to get out the door. Yes, there’s a lot of crying from Hallen when I can’t hold her. But, we’re still in the adjustment phase. I feel so blessed to have another pretty chill infant…
The past five days have been been a new change of pace and a new type of love I always knew I wanted, but hadn’t experienced before! I’ve known since I was probably five years old that I wanted lots of babies, and that my calling was to be a mother. And here I sit five days after bringing our second daughter into this crazy world, and I know we still aren’t finished. Little Hazel has filled our hearts with more love than I thought was possible, and makes Kevin and I even more excited to have…
When you’re waiting on you’re baby to be born (who should have been here by now if she was on Hallen’s schedule), you go anywhere and everywhere to distract yourself! So, for me that’s usually shopping or walking around downtown. This outfit from Ingrid and Isabel is perfect for just going out and about, but feeling cute still (and not like a whale at 9 months). And I know I don’t look that big…everyone tells me I’m still so small, BUT it doesn’t change the fact that I feel like I have…

I don’t know what your plans for Valentine’s Day are, but if you’re a parent and 9 months pregnant with an awful cold, I’ll tell you what mine is going to consist of:A four course meal with salad, soup, then a shot of Robitussin, and some break and bake Valentine’s cookies I make with Hallen. We’ll then follow up our sexy meal with some Netflix and a box of tissues (for blowing my nose or wiping my tears if we watch “This is Us). Ha! Oh! And hoping I go into labor of…
