Motherhood is hard. Really hard. It’s a battle of so many emotions all at once, and my stomach always feels so jumbled after an exhausting morning, chasing kids around, or trying to teach them how to behave kindly. Why is it so hard to be kind sometimes? Why is it so hard for someone to just not slam their sister’s fingers in a door? Why do they challenge everything I try to say? I’m burned out by lunch time when I sit down during their nap. My emotions have exhausted themselves. My head just kind of spins…
Earlier this week, I talked about planning an unplanned day. Well, that’s just what this Charleston trip was. We don’t get to travel enough just the four of us, and Charleston is only 3 hours from our home, so we said, ” what the heck! Let’s just go!” So, off we went for the day. I packed some snacks, and of course lots of pieces to take photos of 😏 What would a normal day be around here without a side of photos to go with it?We only made one stop on the way there for gas and…
I feel like being so connected to social media, makes me want spring even more! Don’t you? And in the south, one day it’s 80 and the next is snowing. True story. Happened this week. And I feel like with the impending spring season, our life is just getting more and more hectic. I sat down to look at my calendar today, and I have something to do literally every single day. One of them may be a hair appointment (which is actually super relaxing), but just seeing a full calendar stresses me the heck out! Dinners with…
Some days…most days…do you ever just feel like you’re on constant repeat from the days and weeks past? That’s how I always felt during the newborn days…just wondering when…IF…it was going to ever end! Right now, I’m in that struggle with Hallen’s three year old attitude. I feel like I have the same conversation with her every single day. We even have a sticker chart going on for attitude/behavior changes, and when she gets 25 stickers, she gets a Snow White dress that she’s been pining over for a…
So, if you’re anything like me, you’re running a little behind for the next holiday, because let’s face it…most of us are moms, and even if we aren’t, time is sacred, and there isn’t ever enough of it! I always say I’m going to do things early, but it never ends up happening. So, here I am, with less than a month to go before Easter, just now looking for home decor and dresses for the girls..and myself! As usual, during nap time today, I sat down searching for Easter dresses for…
This past weekend, I finally got to see my best friend after what seems like forever…my friend who’s last name I actually used for Hallen’s name! She must be kind of special ;-p But, Kevin and I decided to make a weekend trip out of it, and just get away. See new things. Let the girls explore a new city. We didn’t have time to do anything big, because of bridal shower plans and having dinner with her family, but I was totally fine with that.I kept telling Hallen we were going to Atlanta, and…
We’ve finally come to that time again…time to baby proof our entire house. The baby in our home that goes by the name of Hazel…Goldie…Goose…Hazelnut…and a handful of other monikers is quite the explorer. We NEVER had to baby proof with Hallen. We had one baby gate up in our 3 story town home at the time for other people’s children. Hallen would stand at the top of the stairs all day long. She was too careful to try and go down without our help.{this post contains affiliate links}But the second…
We’re in the slow and steady race of trying to create a peaceful master suite that Kevin and I can just totally zen out in. But, I’m sure all of you parents out there know as well as I do, the kids things always come first! Both of the girls’ rooms are beautifully decorated just like I wanted them. The play room got a cute face life. They always get the first new clothes. I’m sure it’s the same for you.So, when I got the chance to collaborate with Linens and Hutch, I wanted to…
