Hospital Bags Packed…Kind Of

hospital-bags-packed-kind-of

I’ve made it! Nearly 38 weeks. Just back from Disney where we walked around the world at least 10 times over, ate our weight in Uncrustables that we packed for snacks, and rode rides until our heart’s content. I thought all of that joy and exercise would have sent me straight into labor when we got home, but it hasn’t. But, it’s probably for the best since we haven’t done anything for this kid. Like nothing. I’m actually glad I needed to take a photo of “hospital bag packed” to make me pack something! Those notecards definitely help you out with a schedule if you’re like me, and just procrastinate. So, my hospital bag is packed…but only kind of. The necessities are there. But I do want to sit down with Kevin and make a labor playlist. And of course, I’ll bring my camera along…even though I’ll also have a birth photographer this time, which I’m SO excited about!

I honestly won’t be packing as much as I have before. I’ll be at a birthing center, and the max stay is 12 hours. They said that most families only stay about 6, so honestly, I probably don’t need anything, but the photographer in me will want to change the baby 10 times. And I always like a couple outfits, because I never know what I’ll feel like wearing after delivery. Last time, I went home in leggings and a tunic, but wore a nursing nightgown the whole time I was there.

Hallen will also be in the room with us (my mom there to help watch her just in case she feels like she can’t be in there), which I never thought I’d do, but I’m so excited for her! And she can’t stop talking about meeting her baby sister, Apple. And mind you, we don’t know the sex, and haven’t told her any names. She’s just set on another sister, and her name WILL BE Apple ! Ha! Love her.

So…what’s in my bag:

Baby clothes:

Milkful Bars

  • They’re full of great nutrition and will help keep my energy up during or after labor, and help with that milk production!

Bae the Label clothing (not surprising, right? Use code DNDxBAE until Nov 30th for a discount!):

Undercover Mama:

Kindred Bravely:

  • Panties. I’ve loved these for pregnancy, and I think they’ll be perfect for postpartum too!

Phone Charger (extra long cord)

Slumberkins Hedgehog (both girls have one, and now the baby will too! Have to have one fun photo prop!)

Free People Bralette

  • This is probably what I’ll be laboring in…hopefully in the tub. I’ve been living in these and the cheaper version from Vici Collection. SO comfy, and I think it’ll be easy to just pull aside for nursing.

Minnetonka Moccasin Slippers

  • Always have to be prepared for cold feet or pacing the hallways in comfort! I also love my J.Crew ones. But hubby got these for me for my birthday, so it makes him feel good when I wear them 😂

Wildbird Ring Sling

  • Baby wearing from the beginning, and these really have become my favorite sling!
