Monday’s OOTD

mondays-ootd

This past weekend was a lot of rain, a little bit of wind, and lots of family time. We had so many friends and family check in on us during Hurricane Florence, which made us feel so loved. I always kind of love gearing up for a big weather event (besides tornadoes…those just drop down out of nowhere…and growing up some in Oklahoma, I hate those green, spooky skies)! I love the chatter of what’s coming our way and what to expect. And 99% of the time, I know it’ll be a lot less than what the news plays it out to be, living in Charlotte. There aren’t really too many extremes here. BUT, I always hope that the big winds and rains come…or the foot of snow ( not too much right ha)! But I want all the crazy weather to come while I can stay safe as well and just watch it from windows. There’s just something thrilling about it, isn’t there? Thrill of the unknown? Anyone like that? Maybe it’s just me. {And I know Florence wasn’t as generous to us as it was to some people living on the coast, so I’m not trying to take it lightly. Please don’t misinterpret this post for that. I am truly sorry for all those families that are grieving lost homes, possessions, and loved ones. }

But after all the crazy weather predictions and constantly monitoring the news over the past week to make sure we’d actually still be safe during all of the storm, I am so glad that it’s all over, and we woke up to sunshine. Back to nearly 90 degrees and humid. Crazy how it can all change in just one day. And I’m feeling the third trimester come on more and more each day. I’m having constant braxton hicks contractions. I remember this happening with my first daughter, Hallen, and this pregnancy is most similar to hers. I’ve been having them since 20 weeks, but now, they happen ALL day long. Every time I stand up, change position, walk, run…I feel like this babe is going to come early. And we have a Disney trip planned for when I’m 36 weeks 😳 I don’t know if that was my smartest decision, but I’ll just have to squeeze this kid in until after that trip! We’re making a map of hospitals along the way just in case ha! So exciting! I’ve also lost my {TMI if you just want to skip over these next few words and read about my outfit down below} mucus plug…a little last week and a little this week. That happened with Hallen the week before I went into labor, so it makes me a little nervous. Although, everything I read says it should regenerate this early. So, I’m not overly concerned. I have my 30 week appointment tomorrow, so I’ll just ask all the questions! Has that happened to anyone else though? I’d love to hear your stories!

Since we’ve been stuck inside for several days now, though, I wanted to put on something besides jammies today. And a dress, hat, and clogs seemed like the perfect transitional, cute and comfy outfit.

Even Hallen wanted to try out the hat after she saw me wearing it! Everyone is ready for their felt hats in this house.

And in all honesty, this little beauty can probably pull it off better than me. She’s growing up too quickly! Every day, she asks about the baby in my tummy. She already “plays” with it and tries to take care of it as best she can. We’ve decided to let her in the birthing room this time, so I’ve been preparing her by showing her some videos, and she just eats it up! She wants to watch more babies being born every day! With her being 4 when this baby comes, I think she’ll react better to it than she did to Hazel. She had so much jealousy with Hazel, but now, she really just wants to be some baby’s mommy.

Hope you guys are having a great Monday! And I hope everyone who was effected by Hurricane Florence is okay today!
