Motherhood in Yoga Pants
About 3.5/4 years ago, I had just started teaching barre at a new studio in Baltimore, and was getting my 200 hour yoga certification. My sweet hubby loved buying me fun yoga pants that I could work in. And he bought me my favorite pair ever from Emily Hsu. No joke, if they were clean, I’d wear them to teach or practice in. If they were dirty, I’d cry! Just kidding. But I did have a big obsession with them (and still do). I loved that they were super high waisted and long enough for my tall frame.
So, recently I received a new pair of leggings from Emily Hsu and a little mini pair for Hallen to wear! Whenever Hallen can wear something like me, she’s all over that! She loves being just like mommy. I hope that attitude lasts until she’s 80!
I got the new Pink Mermaid Legging, and I’m in love all over again! It’s such a fun color for summer. And blush is just one of the colors that describes my soul, so they’re perfect. Hallen received the Aquamarine Girl Legging. She’s in an XS and still has a little room to grow, but they’re adorable nonetheless. She LOVED the sparkle. What girly girl could resist?! She truly felt like a mermaid being a the beach in her leggings. It was the most adorable thing to watch.
Who else has spent most of their motherhood in yoga pants? I know it can’t just be me. It’s the first thing you think about putting on if you’re running to the grocery store, taking your kids to school, or going to a playdate. You want to be comfortable, but look semi put together. Emily Hsu leggings hit the nail on the head with how you want to feel and look. Some leggings leave you feeling a little too revealed or grungy if they stretch out. These leggings are perfect to go on a playdate with the kids and then off to your yoga or workout class. My favorite part of the leggings, hands down is the height of the high waisted pants. No matter what workout you’re doing, or how you have to grab your child, everything stays in your pants. Nothing shows. So, you feel very secure and safe to do what you need to do!
To me, yoga is a dance just like motherhood. You have your rigid days. You have your flexible days. You have days when you feel like you can’t do anything, and other days where you feel like you’re on top of the world and you can balance all that motherhood or your yoga instructor throws your way. And I feel like I’m in the thick of that with a 3 and 1 year old. One day is great, and the next day, I’m acting like my threenager, because this mom thing is hard! But all so worth it.
*I did receive these pants as a gift, but all thoughts and opinions are my own! *
