Sprucing up with Linens and Hutch

We’re in the slow and steady race of trying to create a peaceful master suite that Kevin and I can just totally zen out in. But, I’m sure all of you parents out there know as well as I do, the kids things always come first! Both of the girls’ rooms are beautifully decorated just like I wanted them. The play room got a cute face life. They always get the first new clothes. I’m sure it’s the same for you.

So, when I got the chance to collaborate with Linens and Hutch, I wanted to kiss their sweet feet! Someone wanted little ol’ me to have something nice?! But,  when ordering sheets, comforters, etc online, I’m always a little skeptical at first.  I’ve done it in the past and have been really unsatisfied with the quality or picture online vs real life look of the items. So, I tried not to have too high of expectations.

Our duvet cover and pillow cases arrived swiftly and I threw them on the bed as soon as I could. And honestly, my husband and I both first noticed how soft this duvet cover was. SUPER soft. Almost a silky, velvety feel. And my favorite part is that it zips at the bottom! I’ve never had a duvet cover that zips. I’ve only ever had buttons. I didn’t know this was a thing. And how convenient it is! No duvet poking out between the buttons anymore. It also fits our duvet. Our past covers haven’t ever fit the width correctly. Maybe we have an odd shaped duvet. Maybe. Who knows. But, this one had room to spare, none the less. So, it  was a nice surprise.

I wanted to try and get some cute little photos of my hubby and I enjoying the new digs with some coffee or something. You know. Real life 😏 Ha! That actually never happens. I don’t remember when the last time we were alone drinking coffee in the bed together. There’s always at least one kid bouncing around us! So, inevitably, the balloon party happened! Much more accurate description of my life…the girls enjoying our bed, jumping all around, having a ball. Hallen insists on getting a big bed like mommy and daddy’s in her room! I keep telling her, we earned this bed. She has to make it through the trials and tribulations of toddler, twin, and full sized beds first…then she can be crowned king bed.

I’m thinking we’ll get some of those furry pillows to throw on here for some nice texture next. What kind of bed frame would you put with this duvet? We love a modern farmhouse feel. If you’ve seen my stories lately, we just had shiplap put on our fireplace and in a little work nook in our kitchen. I’ve been thinking that I wanted a tufted headboard, but now I’m not sure if that’s what I want or just a simple white wooden headboard. I’m never been good at making decisions, because I’m always scared I’ll find something else I want more the next week! Just ask Kevin…I’m the worst. If you have ever given me a gift card, there’s a 99% chance I still have it. I’m so scared to spend that money and not get EXACTLY what I want! I know that sounds crazy. I just can’t let it go!

But, I am  glad we went with Linens and Hutch. This is something I’d do over 100 times. I love the simplicity of the stripe and the feel of this cover.
